"Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance." Luke 15:7
It's Easter Weekend! For the follower of Christ this is like the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Stanley Cup, the Kentucky Derby, the Indy 500, and whatever other awesome event you can think of, all crammed into one!
The single most defining days in all of human history are celebrated this weekend and highly revered by both Christian, Jew, and Muslim. Our Lord, Jesus the Christ went to the cross for the sin of the world. He suffered and died and on the 3rd day rose victorious from the grave!
Last Sunday, a single invite card was handed out to every person who attended. Who got the card you were given? Who are you inviting to hear the Good News this Easter Sunday? If you can't name them, the answer is no one. Everyone invites the clerk, the waitress, the random. What about the specific? What about the person you know, who doesn't know Jesus Christ? Yeah. That one. Go get them!
I'm excited to worship with you! I excited to meet the people you invited! I'm excited to rejoice with the joy in heaven over the one who repents!
I'll see you on Good Friday at 7pm and on Easter Sunday 10am, at the Byron High School Cafeteria!
Grace & Peace,
John
