Add to Steadfastness

"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." 1 Corinthians 15:33

This verse is a call, not given nearly often enough, for us to be steadfast, anchored, and as Paul says, immovable. Not merely claiming faith in the Lord, but standing, unshaken on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, in the faith that we claim. Not tossed about, as Ephesians 4:14 says, "to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes."

Far too many today are toe easily shaken, put back on their heels when the world pushes on their faith. But, this is not what we are called to! The Bible, over and over from Genesis to Revelation, calls us to stand firm in our faith! The Bible says that we have the source of our faith, our hope Jesus Christ, as an anchor for our soul!

This Sunday we will look at adding steadfastness to our faith. If you have been following along with this sermon series, then the progression is that we would be adding steadfastness to our self-controlled, knowledgable, and virtuous faith. I hope you are safe and well through the past couple days ice: Jacqueline and I have been praying for you and look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

Grace & Peace,
John
